Katie is the cheeky over-achiever from the middle of nowhere

She grew up on a remote rural property, running behind sheep, swimming in the river, and riding dirt bikes on the airstrip. Katie has the humour and humbleness of an Aussie shearer, the discipline of a kelpie, and the ability to adapt to all seasons and settings as farmers do. Currently, Katie lives in Sydney and works as a special needs educator and primary school sports teacher. She has a passion for living life to the fullest, and bringing friends, family, and disadvantaged children along for the ride!

Katies accomplishments started young

Katie’s sporting achievements started at the age of 5 years. Winning local swimming, athletics, and horse-riding events, and representing her country town, Walgett, at Zone and State Finals. In high school, she was Sports Captain and led the school at numerous IGSSA events, competed in National Championships for Equestrian Eventing, and was awarded the Olympic Committee's prestigious Pierre de Coubertin Award.

More recently Katie was selected into the 2XU Rookies and completed her very first Ironman at Cairns, placing second in her age group, and qualifying for Kona World Championships. She showed her friends and family that this result wasn’t a one-hit-wonder, by winning her age group at Ironman Australia, Port Macquarie, and qualifying a second time for the World Championships.
